Automatic or standby generators are generators that come on automatically when the power goes out. They are hardwired into your home’s electrical system so that when you lose power, in approximately 10 seconds, your generator will detect the loss of power and turn on automatically. Then when your utility power is restored, your generator will safely shutdown and return to your normal electric power source. This is a totally hands-free power system. You will have to do nothing to make your generator work except stay safely inside your home!

Most of our generators are installed in one day! We do a lot of leg work beforehand so that when we come out, we are able to complete the job as quickly as possible. But as with every job, the bigger it is or the more complications it has, the longer it will take.

Most automatic, standby generators should have regular, preventative maintenance performed once a year. Occasionally we will recommend bi-annual or quarterly maintenance for generators that are used frequently or are located at a high risk facility like a health establishment. But most residential generators only need serviced once a year.

Yup! All of our technicians have been trained and certified by Generac. We are also certified for repair and warranty work on Generac generators.

A good life expectancy of a Generac automatic generator is 15 years if well maintained.

We do NOT sell just generators, so our prices include the cost of the generator, labor, parts, permitting etc. Our turn-key generator installation cost ranges from $9,500-$12,000 for a residential generator or $10,000-$30,000 for a larger or commercial generator depending on the size and scope of the project. Most of our residential generator projects come in around $11,000.
